Police Resuce Child Prostitutes Around the US

This past weekend the FBI and local Police rescued 45 suspected teenage prostitutes -age 13-17- in what was called "Operation Cross Country." Along with the rescue, many of their pimps were arrested.

According to, FBI Deputy Assistant Director Daniel Roberts said, " unfortunately the vast majority of these kids are what they term 'throwaway kids', with no family support, no friends. They're kids that nobody wants, they're loners. Many are runaways."

As I read this quote I became very sad and at the same time upset and mad.

I have a question for the"church" at large, and for me, too.

What are we (and I mean my local church as well) doing about these kids? We see them all the time. There should be no excuse for a "throwaway kid." Are we supporting families and giving them the tools they need to be good parents or are we just focused on the "spiritual stuff"? Well, the kids are the "spiritual stuff"!

God forgive us as individuals and as the church for not becoming a louder voice for our kids and turning a blind eye to them.
