Linda was born in 1951 with Cerebral Palsy. She was premature, being born at 7 months and weighing approximately 4 lbs., 12 oz. When she was 4 & 1/2 Dr. Richard Walker lengthened her heel cords, but her right leg remained 5/8 " shorter than her left. She wore corrective shoes at night to keep her legs turned out. When she was 7 they turned her hips around. She wore leg braces until Jr. High and then she was put back into corrective shoes with bands. She started to fall again and her leg started to turn in and she has been using a walker for about 5 years. Linda says that God healed her speech and she is able to live on her own. She has been praying and asking God to make her legs the same length. Her friend invited her to the healing meeting and she says she felt the Lord touch her and it has been a very long time since that has happened. Her leg is now straight.
Linda came to the healing meeting on Sunday, June 8th. I had a Word of Knowledge after the worship through music time that someone was there with a knee problem. Linda came forward for prayer and was overcome by the Holy Spirit and fell to the ground. She laid there during the entire sermon and when she got up her right foot, which had been turned in, was straight. That same morning a lady by the name of Ellen came to visit the service. On Tuesday, June 3rd, I received a Word of Knowledge that someone with sleep apnea would be in the service. During the service he called out that someone was there with sleep apnea and Ellen came forward for prayer. Last Sunday, June 22nd, Ellen came back to church and shared with us that she knew God had touched her body. She also said that for four hours after the service, including her stop at Walmart, she felt like she was under a waterfall. She said that she is normally very high strung, and for four hours she had so much peace. She kept saying that she literally felt like she was standing under a waterfall. What she didn't know is that my 6 year old daughter told me after the service that she saw water being poured out over the congregation during the service. She has seen this once before and in that service several people said they felt like they were getting rained on.

Raised from the Dead-Florida Outpouring

Pastor Stephen reads the story of number 11 raised from the dead:
======================================================
Darla writes:
A young lady from our Choir Ministry came to your revival several weeks ago. On May 8th at choir practice our Worship Leader had the young lady tell of your Revival in Lakeland, FL.
Then our Worship Leader had the young lady pray for anyone in our choir that wanted prayer because she believes in the transfer of the Anointing. When the young lady prayed for me, in her prayer she mentioned Healing, Revival in my family, and Restoration. We did not know what was coming our way but our Lord did.
On Saturday morning May 17th at 2:00 am in the morning I received a phone call that my husband’s Aunt Val had had a heart attack. Val had called her sister Shelia (my mother-in-law) told her to come over, then Val called the paramedics herself, then her son Tim.
When Shelia got to Val's home the paramedics were waiting and Shelia told them to bust in the door. When they found Val she was laying face down, gray, and no pulse. The paramedics did CPR for eight minutes until they got a faint pulse. She was taken to the nearest hospital.
The doctor's accessed her and then had the family to come in. We were told that they were not sure if she had a heart attack or not but she was on a ventilator, they put her in an induced coma.
The doctor was more worried about brain damage because she had been without oxygen for so long and she had shown signs of some damage. The doctor was transporting her to another hospital to do a new procedure called Hypothermia - it drops your body temp to 75 degrees and it helps preserve the brain. She was transported at 5:00 am.
At 6:30 am her son received a call that a test was performed and there was no brain activity. Shortly thereafter, her heart stopped two more times - two more times being shocked, they gave her medicine to start her heart once and once they did CPR.
They doctors performed another test - still no brain activity. The doctors told the family that she only had 20% chance of living - but her mind would not be the same. If her heart stopped one more time she would not survive.
By this time they were telling us she had had several heart attacks. Val's son finally made the decision around 12:30 pm on Saturday to have her life support removed. This decision only came after much prayer - and God did give him total peace. The family was told to go say their good bye. Most of the family are Christians. As each one of us went in we had prayer with her.
Three of my sister-in-laws and my self anointed her with oil and had prayer. While we were praying, she would start to shiver from the top of her head - then it would go through her body to her feet. She did this several times.
One of us asked what was that - we knew the Lord was working on her - The nurse said it is only where she is warming up. While in the waiting room the family read Hebrew 11 - the faith chapter - we broke out in worship and song.
At about 3:15 was time we thought it was all going to be done - Val's son was told there was a problem with organ donor. Val had requested it but her son said no. He was afraid that no autopsy could be performed. So the organ donor corporation was called in… they are called CORE. They were over an hour away.
At this time some of the family thought that this was a bad diversion - they couldn't believe that when the decision was made and there was peace that it had all stopped.
When CORE finally came, they told her son that they would only use the liver and the kidney and it would not interfere with the autopsy. Once again, any family member that wanted to go back could. One last time, prayer came from the very last visitors.
We were told that CORE would contact the doctors in Pittsburg and see if they could use any organs, because once you are over 50 they usually don't. We all left around 6:00 waiting on the final call.
A family friend/pastor stayed - he asked the nurse - could you check and see if there is any blood pressure or pulse so I can tell the family - the nurse checked and there was nothing. All the machines had been taken off but the breathing tube. So the pastor/friend left.
When the nurse was with her she checked one more time- nothing - then she pulled out the tube - Val's hand went to her mouth - the nurse jumped and said that had to be a reflex - then Val opened her eyes.
The nurse was almost in shock - she called for another nurse - they started a blood pressure on her - Val took a breath - her heartbeat came back - she had a blood pressure - had Val asked for her son.
At 6:30 pm The family was called and said get back SHE IS ALIVE and talking a breathing on her own. WOW!!!! PTL!!!!!
Jesus stepped in when man stepped away - when doctor's could do no more - Jesus did the rest.
We all went to see her Saturday right after the call. She knew everyone. Sunday, she was more alert and carrying on conversations with us.

Healing Outpouring Rocks Lakeland-Why not St. Augustine?
What began as a week of meetings at Ignited Church in Lakeland, FL, has continued for the past 38 days. There has been an outpouring of God’s healing and Heaven has come to earth and touched the city of Lakeland. As the healings and miracles began, the crowds began to grow. The meetings moved from the 700 seat Ignited Church to a larger church, then to the Lakeland Civic Center and then to Tiger Baseball Stadium. Hundreds have come to a personal relationship with Jesus and thousands have been healed and received miracles. The deaf are hearing, the blind are seeing and the cripples are walking.
One of the marks of this move of God is people are receiving an impartation to carry this back to their communities. Five pastors from Ireland came to receive an impartation and have carried it back to Ireland. They have begun a series of meetings that is like what is happening in Lakeland. People from all over the world are flying to Lakeland to “come and get some.”
As this move of God spreads, why can’t it come to St. Augustine – the Nation’s Oldest City? I believe that the time has come for the healing power of God to be released in St. Augustine. We only need to want God to send His healing power upon our city.
This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. This is the day that the church celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the church.
Are you hungry for a move of God like this city has never seen? Come and join us as we cry out for the outpouring in our city. We will celebrate Pentecost with a Miracle and Healing Service Sunday at 10:30 am. If you need a miracle or healing come and expect God to touch your body. We meet at the St. Augustine Community Theater in the Ponce de Leon Mall next to J.C. Penney. For more information call 904-540-1624.

This is a movie about St. Augustine in 1964 and now some 40 years later. Not much has changed. I am committed to stay in this city until we see a change.

My Muslim Experience
This past Friday my family went to Orlando to spent the night and have a get away at Epcot on Saturday. Man, did we need the time away. That night we ate at a Chinese Buffet on International Drive. During the course of our meal I saw 2 tables of people who appeared to be Muslim. (All the women had head scarves on.) As I went to the restroom, I heard the Holy Spirit say go to their table and apologize for the behavior of Christians. There was this big emotional battle in my head. They will not hear me, remember that you wife’s nephew’s wife was in the bombing in Jerusalem that was set off by a Muslin, and on and on. But I remember the actions of my friends Tom Pelton and Steve Sjogren. So, as I left the restroom, I walked over to the table and said excuse me to one of the men. I asked if they were Muslin and he responded yes. I put out my hand and said I Joe Butler I’m a pastor and I want to say please forgive us for the way Christians have treated you. There was a real puzzled look on the man’s face and then he smiled and said thank you. I told them to have a great weekend. After this every time that one of the men would walk by or see me they would smile and acknowledge me. It may have not been a huge act, but it touched the lives of a few people who need to know the Risen Savior.
Step out of your comforter zone. Embrace those who need Jesus. Don’t be religious. Be real!

Smith Wigglesworth-One of God's General
Over the next weeks, I will write more about him. He has always been someone I looked up to. As I have been involved in a liturgical church, I have lost the passion for what men like Wigglesworth had. Those days are over! I will run with a passion to know God and walk in the level of God's power that this man walked in.

Finishing Well-A Lesson From the New England Patriots- Perry Noble

For some reason every time I read II Timothy 4:6-7 I want to cry like a baby…and I pray that for myself and the people that I serve with. It is not only my passion to see NewSpring Church accomplish far more than anyone could have ever imagined–but also to finish well–to be radically loved and respected by those who know me the best when my life is over.I’ve thought a lot about this since the Super Bowl. The Pats went 18-0 this past season, they had some incredible moments, set some outstanding records and were the talk of every sports show in the world; however, they will not be remembered for the eighteen games they won…but rather the one game they lost. They didn’t finish well.I’ve been in ministry for nearly 20 years now…and I’ve seen wonderful men of God accomplish great things for His Kingdom. However, I have seen some of those same men choose to make bad moral decisions, thus negating in everyone’s mind the victories they won for Jesus.Call that right or wrong–we can debate that all day long. The one thing that cannot be debated is this - that you and I will not be remembered for how well we started the race…OR how we endured during the middle…but rather how we crossed the finish line.I want to finish well…I want that for all of us.One more thing about the Pats…the week before the Super Bowl (and since) HOW they played the game has been called into question. Most of us have seen the allegiations from 2003 & how their coach has been accused of taping the Rams final practice. The thing that seems to make this believable is that he (their coach) was busted at the beginning of this year basically doing the same thing during the game.SO…whenever this past season is looked upon in football history there will always be some sort of cloud of doubt because…well…somewhere along the line INTEGRITY has seemingly been compromised.I have learned that in football…in ministry…in LIFE–INTEGRITY MATTERS! It makes no difference if we are growing great ministries if, somewhere along the lines, we feel like we need to compromise our integrity.Sometimes the desire to “win” can seemingly overshadow the call of God on our lives to run the race faithfully.I do not write this as a man who has it all together. AND…I am not judging ANYONE. When I see another minister choose a life of sin (NO ONE FALLS INTO IT), thus disqualifying himself from ministry I ALWAYS say, “By God’s grace that isn’t me!” I know my potential for sin is unlimited if I do not intentionally strive to keep my eyes focused on Jesus.BUT…what I do have is passion to play the game in such a way that honors God and inspires people…and that one day when I breathe my last breath those who knew me the best will stand around my coffin and say, “The one thing about Perry that I can say is that the guy loved Jesus, loved his family and loved NewSpring with every ounce of life in his body…he finished well.”

I Helped Put A Man On The Moon

There's a story about when President Lyndon Johnson visited NASA and as he was walking the halls he came across a janitor who was cleaning up a storm, like the Energizer bunny with a mop in his hand. The president walked over to the janitor and told him he was the best janitor he had ever seen and the janitor replied, 'Sir, I'm not just a janitor. I helped put a man on the moon.'...Even though he was cleaning floors he had a bigger purpose and vision for his life. That is what kept him going and helped him excel in his job.
More Ah-Hah's About Connecting With Not-Yet Believers by Steve Sjogren

It’s All Caught … Then Explained
Some think it’s clever to parrot, “That’s one of those things that is more ‘caught than taught.’” No longer funny nor clever. Please explain what isn’t caught. One thing - please. Somebody. ‘Bueller, Bueller, has anyone seen Ferris Bueller?’
When we serve others it is natural they ask, ‘So what’s this all about?’
Peter said, ‘Be ready to give an account of the hope that lies within you…’ Many have given their version of what Pete was alluding to. My shot in light of the context of his comments is this: His comments on this are located near the question of how to win a not-yet believing spouse. The answer is simple and by the way flies in the face of dozens of messages I have heard from well-intentioned teachers. Peter says, ‘Live a stellar life… be careful to not over-use words with those closest near you…’ That is a summary of course. You read it. If you hyperventilate I’m sorry but that’s is what Peter says. You may want to read it several times after breathing into a brown paper bag if the hyperventilation begins to occur.
Talk Less Or You Might Become Toxic
Peter is clarifying there comes a time when words can begin to cocoon people away from the message. “Uhh.” Words get in the way of the message? Absolutely. If you are an adult convert you understood this clearly once upon a time whether you can remember that now or not. In case you can’t remember that just spend half an hour at Starbucks and ask some friendly faces after you’ve paid for their venti sized coffee drinks. They will confirm Peter’s two thousand year old inspired insight.
“Might” become toxic - some have the learned skill of talking when its time to talk and listening in right proportions. Listening a lot is the way we earn the right to have the barest bit of integrity that allows us to become people who can connect with those around us who are in the funnel coming toward Christ.
Ever try to make a withdrawal without first a deposit in the account at your bank? You won’t get very far. I see people who are trying to ‘do evangelism’ (those two words are pregnant - “Can I do evangelism to you?”)
Deposits come in many ways.
Listening is one of the most profound ways.
Listening is perhaps most often done by us slowing down and literally using our ears - however, listening is a comprehensive activity. We listen with our entire being…
Body language communicates with our entirety that we are an audience to what the person in front of us is about - that what they are up to is IMPORTANT - to us… and guess what - to God.
No deposit. No right whatsoever to begin to make a penny’s worth of withdrawal.
Never again a conversation that has been memorized…
Hi, my name is uh… (now quickly glance at cue card in left, no, right hand) uh, Steve… May I share something with you that is very, very important to me…?
The above actually does ‘work’ with those on the east side of town in Lemming, Iowa and Syracuse, East Virginia. But since 1974 no reports of church growth have been reported that are deemed credible.
